The vast majority of oil extracted products currently in the market are with higher levels of opioids than what has been approved in the 2018 Farm Bill. While national and international limits for the intoxicating part of a hemp plant % range between 0%-0.3% the vast majority of the product out there is “hot”, some assumptions put that number in the 80% and more. This means there are millions of gallons with high amounts of it and these pose a serious problem and threat to whoever is found harboring or distributing these materials, which is pretty much everyone in the hemp market.

This can result in confiscation, demand to destroy the product, Fines or even in some cases – incarceration.

Existing solutions
Toxic, Expensive and Chemist level personnel. Existing solutions to remove or reduce to compliant opioid levels in the market today use toxic solvents such as Heptane, Pentane and Ethanol, and are extremely expensive to operate and require highly trained staff. All these
methods are collectively known as Chromatography. Removing the intoxicating part from the products through existing technologies also called oil remediation, this includes but is not limited to different Chromatography methods, Flash Chromatography, Reverse Chromatography, Centrifugal Par on Chromatography and more.

The problem with these is that each method introduces toxic solvents that ruin, reduce and destroy the extract
that’s being remediated leaving it with a different color, bad odor, and on top of that are extremely expensive
ranging between $0.70/gram to $2/gram and even more, and purchasing decent equipment to do that will start in
the hundreds of thousands and to scale will go into the millions.

The solution is to remediate the intoxicating hemp oil in a natural way, not by separating or destroying components but by converting the opioid into healthy medical terpenes this way, maintaining the potency and not harming the rest of the material. Once this happens, we would run the oil through a Wiped Film machine to complete the process and clear the oil (Wiped Film doesn’t use any chemicals or solvents, only temperature differences). This would be the only NATURAL way today to remediate it without using harmful solvents.
